A Long Weekend Itinerary for Tadoba Safari

Nagpur is also known as ‘Tiger Capital of India’ due to its strong connectivity to several Tiger Reserves around the city. Tadoba Andhari National Park and Pench National Park are among the most popular ones. Nagpur comes second after Pune as the significant city for IT hub in Maharashtra. Itinerary:-

Day 1. Arrive at Nagpur International Airport or Chandrapur Railway Station and head directly towards Tadoba Andhari National Park. Reaching Tadoba, after lunch and afternoon nap, go for the wildlife safari in the evening slot. Return to your lodge in the late evening, spend some leisurely hours and go to sleep.

Day 2. Wake up early in the morning to start your day with the second round of jungle safari to admire the wide expanse of wildlife, the Royal Bengal Tigers being the topmost priority to spot. You can opt for both jeep as well as canter safari, but you need to do the Tadoba National Park Booking in advance. After the morning safari and breakfast you can choose to visit the nearby places like Tadoba Lake, Erai dam, Somnath Shiv Temple, Somnath Waterfall, etc. You can go for a night safari if you are the kind of adventure and thrill loving tourist.

Day 3. Check out from your lodge or resort and head towards Nagpur. Reaching there, check-in to your hotel and go for local sightseeing for the day.

1. Dhamma Chakra Stupa - A spectacular architecture made of Dhaulpur sandstone granite and marbles is 120 feet high and can accommodate 5000 people. The Stupa is also known as Deeksha Bhumi. Buddhism and Ambedkar followers accumulate here on the day of Ashoka Vijaya Dashmi to mark their tributes and cherish the coalescence of several Dalits to Buddhism, done by Dr. Ambedkar. Therefore, the place holds a high religious significance.

2. Seminary Hill - One of the dearest spots visited by the tourists due to its picturesque beauty of hilly landscapes and panoramic city views. The splendour of the place is further enhanced by the Satpura Botanical Garden and Japanese Garden that are located there.

3. Ramtek Fort Temple - The temple is a treasure of mythological history, Lord Ram was believed to have taken rest in the temple before marching towards conquering Lanka. The temple is nestled on the hill top, inside a fort, and is dedicated to Lord Ram.

4. Civil Lines - With clean and wide roads with trees and greenery alongside, Civil Lines is a perfect spot to chill. Drive to this place in the evening and you can spend some leisurely time in the restaurants, pubs and eateries.

5. Amba Khori - Located 80 kms from Nagpur, Amba Khori has much more than the waterfall. The Totladoh Lake Dam near the waterfall is said to have the resemblance of the teary eyes of Shakuntala, the renowned female protagonist of Kalidasa. The waterfall too is a mesmerising beauty in itself.

6. Sitabuldi Fort - The fort has been a witness to several famous battles before independence. Post-independence, the Sitabuldi Fort was the base for the Indian Army’s 188th infantry battalion. The fort is opened for the general public on the occasions of Independence Day, Republic Day and Maharashtra Day.
